^Sry Lukas, I assumed that due to the extreme wealth of the academic curriculum at your school, I also thought that you came from a wealthy family.

If you're qualify as a typical URM, then you're chances are above average, if not better

haha! this is so comic! the mood swings from one post to the other! i feel like making pregnancy jokes :p

Could you explain the following?
IB Italian IV (what is IV? i do IB and this is not an official classification..are you referring to A1 or A2 perhaps??)

IB Physics
IB Physics-Lab
What's the difference between the two? Labs are a part of Physics!

IB Contemporary World History
IB Design Technology II
IB Theory of Knowledge (not a course - a diploma requirement more like it...)
IB English IV

I can see you only have 5 IB subjects...i'm presuming you are not going for an IB diploma? It's a wee bit mystifying...maybe i got sth wrong, but care to elaborate?

Also:
- Eagle Scout (congrats on that! - shows a great deal of leadership and commitment to community service)
- URM: hook-ish

OH! Correction! I saw u already got 2 IB subjects - i'm guessing in SL..but your scores are very VERY low for Yale! two fours? that is really low! it's barely a pass....it doesn't look good...

but there are other things in your profile which compensate - to a certain extent...
i'd say apply. admissions are a crapshot, so you don't have anything to lose..
good luck!

Yea, I took two SL tests last year, and for some reason our whole school scored very low in those tests. In chem the highest score was a 6 which only two people got and the rest were fours except for like six fives. This was probably because it was our chem teacher's first year teaching IB. As far as my math score goes, I only have myself to blame, and although i get good grades in math A-B average, I test horribly. IB Italian IV= IB Italian 4 haha sorry if that came across kind of weird. And for IB physics, since our school operates on an 8 period schedule they made anyone who takes a science to take a lab to accompany it in order for there to be enough time to teach everything (to correct the mistake made the year before in the IB chem and IB bio classes) Basically, its physics everyday of the week rather than just 2 or 3 times.

And as for applying, I already did! haha so I guess we'll see in April what happens =) thanks for your comments.

yes, i got the latin to arabic numericals...aka the IV=4...but what IS 4? is it literature, so in that case Group 1 (ie Italian A1) or is it Group 2 (so in that case Italian A2 or B)??
