so, what are my chances at MIT, CIT, HYP, Cornell, Dartmouth other ivies etc.

paino? sounds painful ;) I have no idea regarding chances, but I would like to ask, what are you like as a person? I like to think colleges find that important too. also, interesting that you say CIT, I almost always see it as "Caltech."

haha, paino, yes, common typo, i am a master of paino and piano.
pain-o involves choking yourself with rusty piano wire until u black out...what can i say...its an acquired taste, like most things after all
ok, well, i appreciate the levity, but i would appreciate even more a serious post about my chances, thanks
yes, CIT, i was in a terrible rush....jk

any languages besides english and latin? what does your community service look like? any sports?

I think that your chances are good at all of the schools, and high at a number of them (Cornell, maybe Dartmouth). But do you need financial aid, and if so, what kind? Also, select some easier reaches just in case.

sounds kinda fishy...i mean...who gets an A- in multivariable calc??????? You have to be dumb to get below an A+

lol, if u read it carefully, it means A OR A+
elcommando
A-s arent even in the picture, dude, better up your glasses prescription

of course your highness I was only jesting because nobody would ever dare to question your high skil level of an A+++++ (too bad I have never heard of multivariable calc in my entire life haha :))

Um...I'd say you probably have a very good chance at all of those schools. I got into Dartmouth, and I have a lot less Stats than you. However, how are your essay skills and personality? Those are important too. If those are good, and you do great at your interviews, you shouldn't have a problem.

yeah, thats kinda the problem hobbitinside, cuz i can fake a good personality but then again i am really shy in person so that might hamper the ol interview. I dunno, its a toss-up, in my opinion, which of the conflicting factors will win out. I have front-row seats haha

elcommando:
say what??!?!?
u've never heard of multivariable calc(ulus)??!?!?!?
they don't give u much of an education in that dog kennel of yours, now do they???!?

ouch, thats one heck of a stinging comment... but im sure u guys are joking
is it ok for me to ASSUME that you are into Math? from your classes, i wasnt really sure...

Claude Debussy: I am kind of shy too, and to be honest, I can't say my interviews were the best. I didn't even get a Dartmouth interview, so it's not absolutely necessary :-P. However, I know this sounds cliche, but just be yourself at the interviews, and you should be fine. Answer honestly, not what you think they want to hear. Have an idea what you're going to say before you go in though; they always ask the same few questions: why do you want to come to our school, what are you interested in and why, so on. Have a few questions ready for them too. Make eye contact and act confident.

Academically, you are seem to be just as good as anyone else overall. Most people who get accepted to MIT take AP BC calc in either their junior or senior years. You have such a surplus in advanced courses, so I think you could really clinch acceptances at some of those schools if you applied what you learned more. That would really separate you above the pack. Do an independent project in engineering or something like that.
P.S. How come you can't take AP Physics C.

hes too busy with multivariable calc(ulus)

lol, ec haha.
hobbit: yeah, your advice seems pretty solid but i'm not sure that the real me will cut any ice with them; i dunno, we'll just see what happens i guess; thanks 4 your condieration tho.
coyote: hmm, im not really one of your technical types so im not sure what kind of "applied" work i could do; no big labs around here or anything; but oh well

Is your GPA W? Also you have an alright chance, you dont really standout.

ok
ok
ok, no its not weighted big guy, and i dont think im deluding myself when i think i have a somewhat better than "alright" chance at these places, so p155 off.

ECs: paino (8-9 years, nothing too special)

didn't you say you played at carnegie hall? and won some national thing 5 times? i'd consider that special. put that on your app. unless of course that wasn't true.

lol, that was a joke man!!!!
christ, how can u not get that; from someone with "lol" built into his very name, honestly i expected more dude (lolololoLOL!)
