so, what are my chances at MIT?

o yeah, and a John s Hopkins summer camp in Biology this summer

I'd say you have a great chance at MIT. I don't know if they want recent SAT scores, but a 1560 at 14!...wow! Your ECs may be lacking that "passion" some schools look for, but overall you are definitely a strong applicant. Good luck!

JHU < I don't know much about their program, but I think your chances are 90%+

MIT < Well, you certainly have the numbers. MIT looks for well-rounded applicants. From what you've posted, you're alittle lopsides. Strong in math, science, and chess. Are you not interested in sports and arts? Regional awards, but nothing national. I think you'll have a better chance at Caltech, which doesn't care about E.C. as much.

Sorry for sounding so harsh, but It's a known fact that all top schools reject alot of perfect scorers.

ok, thanks alot for the feedback
ne&all is appreciated
personally, im not that optimistic about my chances, and yes i am planning to apply to the famous triad: CM, CIT, MIT (among others, safties too of course)
about the arts thing, would a good score on the lit SATII help at all?
or do i need something more accomplishment-oriented for that sort of thing? thanks (j. asking cause i tok the math iic and lit satii s a few days ago, eagerly awaiting the results on may 23, like everyone else!)

For SAT II, all 700+ scores are fine. Since you have taken math and Lit, you might want to consider a science SATII, physics maybe? Latin is a good one also. If you do good, it'll make you stand out.

p.s. 800 on physics will be more common than 800 Latin

Read the recent posts by benjones of MIT Admissions staff.

oh yeah, sorry, i forgot, i took Phys SAT II and got 800, if that makes any diff.
sorry about that omission

actually, i did take the Phys SAT II and got 800, just forgot sorry
sorry for the omission

oops double post, sorry lol

I think that you have an excellent chance at gaining admission to MIT. Your academics are outstanding and I guess the rest comes down to your application and luck. If anything, you might be slightly, only slightly in my opinion, weak on ECs.

What are you interested in majoring in?

eh, sociology lol
jk
no, probly math v physics
