As a matter of principle I refuse to answer to chances threads, but I will point out that the major you apply to in the college doesn't matter. Penn makes you pick a school (College, SEAS, Nursing, Wharton) but the major doesn't make a difference. That said, demonstrated interest is great, and if you pair a major selection with experience, it can look good.

9:23 AM? MATT?! Was that a...dopplematt in the exam?!

Your aps are going to hurt. 500 kids in your class and you are still #1 with 3 b's, yet can't pull together a 4 or 5 on AP. Adcom is going to think your school is easy, and judging by those stats, it is.

AP grades are NOT a mandatory part of the admissions process. Therefore, i think it would be in your best interest to withhold all those scores. (do not report them on your application)

yea but penn attracts so many qualified applicants who take ap courses and report scores of 4's and 5's on the exams. leaving out this information when, on your transcript, there are a number of ap courses definitely doesn't help you. if you don't put them on your application they'll assume you didn't do well on them. see how you do on your exams this year and if those are good, then maybe you can get by with just reporting those scores. its possible they may pardon your soph year ap scores, but again, its getting really tough.

Those scores are already on your transcript, you truly can't hide anything, even ACT, unless you don't send your scores to your school, which all AP are. Wow though... 3 b's and 1/500, what sort of demographic does your school have?

I never said anything to the contrary; I said Penn makes you pick a school, but not a major. Admissions for each school are done separately, but there is no difference between majors in each school. A bioengineering/chemical engineering/computer science major are all considered the same (most come in undeclared, and Wharton doesn't even make you declare a concentration until you graduate). Admissions for the college don't care what major you put down.

That said, comparing admissions for engineering and wharton is like apples and oranges - they're looking for totally different things. Wharton wants leadership, engineering wants calculus and physics.
