Im currently a senior in high school, at a very good high school in Canada, in an enrichment program. I've scored just above 2100 on my SATs, a 700 on Mathematics I, a 690 on Mathematics II, and a 720 on World History. I currently have a 95% average (GPAs arent very prominent in Canada, so I have no idea how one would go about calculating that, but any assistance would be appreciated), and I am taking AP Calculus, AP Statistics, and AP World History this and next semester. I am incredibly interested in mathematics, business, and economics. I have played rugby since my freshman year for my school team, am currently the captain, and I have competed outside of school at the provincial level. I am one of our student government's co-presidents, I am the head of our business venture club, and I am the head and founder of a club raising awareness for a lesser known food allergy that I, and some of my peers suffer from. I have gotten really involved with the national association regarding the food allergy, and I have put in a lot of time volunteering with them. Our hockey team went to Europe during my sophomore year (after fundraising almost the entire cost of the trip), and I was named the captain. I was working as a co-op student at a massive corporate law firm in Canada during the junior year of my first semester, and I was a senior leader at our schools annual leadership camp (2010/2011). This and last year, I was part of a leadership course where we welcome incoming freshmen, and work with them for the first semester developing good habits, and making sure they are acclimating well to the high school environment. I am on very good terms with my guidance counsellor, coaches, and teachers, and I think I can get excellent letters of reference from them. Ive spent a lot of time on my application essays (I started drafting them at the beginning of my Junior year), and they are on the subject of my aforementioned food allergy, which has significantly changed my life.

I have submitted applications to most of the Ivy League schools, and a couple other American schools. The two schools that I am most interested in are Wharton at UPenn, and Harvard.

From what I have heard, applying to any of the Ivy Leagues is somewhat of a crapshoot, and excellent candidates get rejected on a common basis. However, that being said, what do you think my chances of acceptance are? And is there anything else I could / should be doing to strengthen my application to set myself apart from other candidates? And even if I get in, Im not sure if we would be able to afford to send me to the schools, because of the way the financial aid works out. Does anyone know of any lesser known scholarships that I might be able to apply to, and if not, do you think student loans are worth taking out? I would only consider student loans because the job placement rates for Harvard and Wharton are especially high, and the base salaries are usually very good for those jobs. I am willing to do any amount of work to make all this a reality.

Thanks so much!
