u have good sats...the only "low" portion of ur stats is your gpa, which I assume you take fairly difficult classes so they will take that into consideration

I have a hunch it'll be VERY difficult for you to get in. Yes, your tests are good, no worries that way. But, their avg. gpa is around a 3.75, and a 3.05 may not cut it :(. And, unfortunately, the admissions committee won't review essays so there's no way to sway them. But, apply and see what happens. Like in my case, I applied to an ivy just because. WHy not!? Life's worth living, just give it all you got and there will be no regrets :D...And i'm not saying you won't get in, but consider it a reach i'd say. Then again, reaches are possible!

It used to be a 3.5, but they said for the past 2 or 3 years it's been at a 92% average in general (or near an 89%...89% is pretty much their cutoff I've been told, but ya know there are exceptions to every rule lol.)

nopes, i'm from pittsburgh lol. a 3.03 gpa is converted to approximately a 76%, but then again, it could be higher, and it could be lower (only slightly.)

ok, so i'm currently at the status of "Reviewed-Decision Pending" and it's been a couple days already. you think this is a bad or good sign? i would have personally thought they'd reject me on the spot.

No, that's not a sign at all haha mine says that as well. Basically, what it means is that they know what you have, your stats, everything, and they're still formulating their decision." (pending meaning it's not yet determined.) I bet in the next week they'll have it for ya, if not two weeks.

^not neccessarily true. if you are blatantly unqualified, why wouldn't they refuse an admission on the spot? there wouldn't be any reason to "formulate a decision".
