Also pertaining to my majors Poli sci and econ i did many things including starting many business and one online business hosts leagues for sports via Xbox and is estimated to make 2k -10k a month i only get 50 percent of commision though i'm hoping! Business is risky

I am in the youth commission which means i represent my community with 70,000 people. I also am in charge of 15,000 dollars that i grant loans to agencies around the city to help benefit the low income of my city. I work directly with the mayor, city government. : ) I might get a recommendation from the mayor

With regards to courseload... I 've taken the hardest coureload at anyone at my school

Junior year: 6 ap's ( max)
senior year: 6 ap's( max)
summer: 5 college courses one summer and 3 another summer

bump..................

yawn. You sound like a robot that did way too much and probably did not even enjoy it t. I had the cushiest senior year and all did was be in key club one year and have part time Jobs and I got into Berkeley, La and SD.

do you enjoy any of the things you have done? If you have a hobby then just focus on that... Show that you are special and you'll be fine.

Woah, why don't you narrow down that list to ones you actually have researched and want to go to?

Man, all you kids are crazy about college. It seems like you're just trying to apply to all the "best" schools. Figure out which ones you want to go to.

Having said that, I applied to schools last year, and I did almost no extracurriculars, except for a few weeks of community service every year, tutoring and whatnot, I was in no clubs, I did no sports, played no instruments, and the only job I did was work at a camp for 3 weeks each summer. Didn't take any college courses either. I did nothing, really, except sat around at home or at friends houses playing videogames and watching TV. Meh, I just had good grades and SATs. I still got into Dartmouth, Columbia, Duke, JHU, Northwestern and Cornell... so I'm sure you're fine.

How many of those activities do you actually enjoy doing, and how many are because you are just being "ambitious"? Man.. you people don't know how to relax.

well see here's the thing... i want to go into law and as you know... law requires prestige. medicine... not so much... you can go to uc riverside medical school and you'll find a job anywhere... but not for law.. : /

decisions come out december 15th for ED and 2nd semester senior year i'm drpping all my activities and just sleeping and partying for the 2nd semester.

All the activities you see here are what i enjoy doing or I wouldn't start them in the first place.

I thought that colleges wanted rigor so this summer semester i'll take 7 college courses : / and i've taken 12 ap's at school and 10 college courses out of school. I dunno how much rigor plays into the admissions.

thanks for all your input even though i received criticism : /

Chances anyone?

BTW all i care about is getting into 1 private school and trust me.. i researched them all and i like them all pretty much... except i'm more into warm weather and urban life.

Please respond to my previous post AND i had a question!

as u can tell i want to do alot of early apps to get it over with ( rejection or acceptance).

I can apply to all those schools early except stanford is SCEA : / I really want to apply to stanford early.. will they know if i applied to one school ED and one SCEA? What will happen? Is there a chance they don't find out? Does it involved sending scores over collegeboard.com( they'll know because you request a rush service for Early apps and they'll see all my rush services).

No, you can't apply to anything else ED if you do SCEA at Stanford. If you like Stanford the most, do SCEA there and let it be. Apply early wherever you like the most. Don't try to mess the system, you could get screwed over. Plus, what college likes people who try to CHEAT the system and break the rules? :P The colleges talk to each other about these things so they will find out.

You have good chances at all of these... though you can never predict and a lot of it is up to luck.

ooohh they share their applicants... : ( are u sure?

NOOOO

well my uncle is an associate dean at stanford, but i don't want to go there : / i really want to go to columbia... so i just wanted to get into stanford early and just relax the rest of the senior year.

I prolly wont get into Columbia ED... which will make me sad : (

i dunno which is better columbia or stanford? I want to be in NYC, yet i want to be close to home and in warm weather... stanford is in the middle of nowhere : /

btw are u indian?

Says who? Both pretty much equally weight undergrad program quality.

Shazkar: how did you get into those schools, then? Did you have something else going for you (URM status, for example)?

I'm Indian, so no URM. I think a lot of it is up to the fact that I had good scores/grades, and I had good recommendations from teachers who knew me well as a person.

Well, I'm at Columbia now. (Ironically, Stanford was my first choice, and I did EA, but I got owned). Still, quite glad here (though sometimes I wish I had gotten in there :P ). Went to a Yankees game for free last night, though it was freezing, and then went back to school and got to see Knocked Up (which comes out in June) for free. Fun times.
Good luck with your applications and whatnot.

SHAZKAR! Duuude please add me to AIM; Skywalker925

I'm currently deciding between Columbia and Stanford and I love them both, but I kinda still like Columbia a bit better even though Stanford is 10 miles from my home. Can we talk online sometime?

btw I'm indian too :P

if I send a bhangra video would they care? i mean how many Punjabi's send in bhangra videos?
