CHANCES TO GET INTO Columbia SEAS and Cooper Union!!!

I am going to apply for transfer to Columbia School of Engineering and Aplied Science (SEAS) and Cooper Union School of Engineering from SUNY Stony Brook.

My GPA in Stony Brook is a 3.88 and possibly a 4.0 if I get class grade straightened up.
I only took a course load of 12 credits my first semester.
Next semester will have a course load of 19 credits. I am interning next semester at Brookhaven National Lab in RHIC.

My high school record is not that great, with SAT's of M710, and V540. My high school GPA was a 3.5. I also have 33 transfer college credits from college courses taken in high school. These come from AP's, Adelphi, C.W. Post. I also attended a course in Nassau Community College as a junior in high school in which I got a grade of an A+.

I also got letters of recommendations from my Physics Professor and Manager from my job.

I have a lot of awards from bowling, including top average in NY State among all high school bowlers. I have an internship, and volunteer work. I've had a job for 4 years.

I've heard that Columbia SEAS is easier to transfer into than Columbia College, with a chance of about 21%. Would a recommendation from a Columbia alumni help my chances significantly?

Is there any possible way I could get into any of these two schools? Also, would it be good if I send my mid-semester grades when I send my application?

Specifically what kind of courses did you take?

Last Semester I took
Classical Physics I, the more advance course.
Engineering Science Introduction
Multivariable Calculus III with Applications
One credit Class- intro to Stony Brook

Next Semester
Applied Calculus IV 4 cr.
Classical Physics II 3 cr. + 1 lab cr. 4 tot cr.
Chemistry for Engineers 3cr. + 1 lab lecture cr. + 1 lab cr. 5 tot cr.
Engineering Statics 3 cr.
Intermediate Writing Composition 3cr.

Internship w/ physics prof. at Brookhaven National Lab.

Hey i go to stony brook too
which physics you were taking? 131 or 141? I assume you are a frosh?
I'm taking almost the same thing this semester
Do you want to apply to seas because it's closer to home? otherwise i see no point of doing so since seas is hardly a strict engineering school, and its reputation isnt that well in engineering

I take the 131 course.

I want to go there because of the major majors they offer there. Engineering Mechanics and Materials Engineering.

Also, on top of that, I kinda prefer to go to Columbia over Cooper Union because I always have the option to be a physics major. Also, one of my role models, Brian Greene teaches physics and mathematics at Columbia. That would be incredible because I could learn from him, and he's done some extraordinary work and revolutionized string theory and quantum gravity.
