Chances to get into Law

Question,

As a chemical engineering major at a prestigous univ with a 3.3 GPA (total), and a good LSAT score, do i have chance of getting into a respectable law school at all?

Would my chances increase for me if i went into industry for a few years and then applied for law school?

thanks!

I want to practice patent law.

For patent law, the prestige of your undergrad/grad school means as much or more than the law school so you don't have to be as concerned about getting into the top law schools. That can hopefully give you some flexibility about cost too. If you become a patent agent and work for a law firm, they may be willing to help with the expense of law school, assuming you commit to working for them during (part time) and after law school.

If you have a high enough LSAT your chances are good.

I'm interested too. Being a science major, we have very few classes that involve heavy communication, would the LSAT be their primary way to evaluate your skills?

What do you mean by a "good" LSAT score? There's a huge difference between, say, 85th and 95th percentile.
