Chances to get into Yonsei Underwood University?

Hi, I’m a foreigner who has moved to Korea in the last year. I finished up my last high-school semester at an International HS here in Seoul. I was wondering what are my chances of getting accepted into Yonsei? Unfortunately I’ve moved to 3 different countries in the last three years which has hindered my education significantly. I was supposed to finish my IB in Mexico, where I’m from, but got transferred at the last minute to another school in another country that didn’t have IB :frowning:
I took my SAT in my junior year, got a 1590 (sucks I know) and then tried to take it again, but with all the moving… In short, I have a 1590 SAT and a 3.72 GPA. I’m a member of the National Honours society, I speak Spanish, Portuguese, French, English, and a little bit of Mandarin, and basic to no Korean (hahah), and AP courses only count until you’ve taken the test right? I’ve taken Spanish AP and gotten a 4, and a Psychology with a 3. It’s all been at the last minute sadly. I wish I could be better prepared, but I don’t really have the money to go abroad and study abroad. So I would like to stay here in Korea with my family. Are there any good colleges that would accept me here in Korea?
Thanks!

I am a Korean so I know how Underwood works, not in details but in general.
Underwood programs technically accept you if you have one, MONEY, and decent high school records that doesn’t have to be top 20 US college level.
However there is a downside. One, it is more expensive than general admission to the school and two, the Korean kids in KOREA who are admitted to the school won’t like Underwood program kids because they tend to feel cheated.
You don’t like it? Well, deal with it.

If you have questions, asking the admission office is the best choice.

@paul2752 o.o" Do you know any other unis in Korea (not necessarily TOP 20) that foreigners with little Korean language skills can get into?

What is your nationality? What is your visa status?

@paul2752 I’m Mexican-American. I hold both the US and Mexican passport.

Other than the fact that your family has been transferred to Korea in the past year, is there any particular reason for you to want to study there?

What does the college placement advisor at your high school have to say about admission to the Korean universities? Do all of the students from your school leave Korea for university-level studies?
