Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give an idea of who I am...
Thank you very much for the help!

bump…anyone?

Your stats are perfect :)

Anyone else?
And also what would you consider a “highly likely” or “safety” school for me? I was thinking UCLA and Cal since I’m instate, but I dont know if those would be safeties since they are pretty selective

First of all as a fellow '10 classmate, you have a VERY solid application. However, even if you have all those qualities its still very hard to say for the top 20 schools.
UC’s - Match
UPenn - Low Reach
Columbia - Low Reach
MIT/CalTech - Reach (Even though you have skipped 2 years in math many that apply to MIT and CalTech are USAMO qualifiers, acing their AIME, not enough “math/science” EC’s)
Ivy’s - High match to Reach (Ranges from low to moderate) Again, since you go to a Private school, I can not gauge how the Ivy’s will treat you.

Overall, a highly successful high school career.

I would go with MIT EA rather than yale EA with ur stats.

Strong App but most of Ivies are crapshoots…Maybe if you are going MIT EA then also try Caltech EA since its not restrictive.

You have amazing stats. I think that you are extremely competitive for the majority of those schools. Many of them are hard to call safeties even for the best of qualified students. You are sure to get into many on that list, but it is hard to say which since most seem to be pretty random since there are a lot of well qualified applicants that get rejected. Good luck, you seem to be well prepared for just about all of those schools!

I’m a bit confused. Is AIME really considered something big if you didn’t qualify for USAMO?

rg you said you have legacy at penn and columbia. Did your parents go there?

I dont know if AIME is considered something big but I know that I got highest scores on both AMC and AIME at our school so I might mention that as well.
In terms of where I apply EA, I am deciding between EA at both MIT and Caltech, SCEA at Yale or SCEA at Stanford: I will make my decision based on which I think is most likely to produce an acceptance so I can lose my nerves over the process: any thoughts?
And yes, my dad went to Columbia undergrad and for his residency and my mom went to Penn…how much do you think that fact improves my chances if I’m not applying early?

I just don’t understand how you have had an experience with poverty having two ivy-league parents.

Oh, I see what you were wondering… not my own experiences, I have traveled to Belize, Egypt, Iran, Peru and Russia though over the past two years on my own to experience the other side of life, and have since become very involved and during those trips photodocumented everything and used that for my AP concentration as well.

ah i see, great essay topic. I think you have are almost guaranteed to get into AT LEAST a couple ivy leagues. I think you have a great shot at yale SCEA as well.

Im hoping the Essay stands out… so do you think that Yale is my best shot if i was going to go early somewhere? wont being instate for stanford help?

anyone else?

wow lol, why did you put this chance thread? For ego and comfort? How bout you do some research online about their admissions. I know that you know, deep down, that you think you have a strong app. So why did you post this? I bet you will say I want other people’s input. If you have such a strong app, go ask your school for input or someone else. Also,
"Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give an idea of who I am… " Drama works on some people only.

don’t send your french AP score. i hate french too.
apply everywhere, your stats are good, but as someone said, when you’re dealing with these top schools and everyone is overly qualified, acceptance starts to become random.
good luck! i’m sure you’ll get into a lot of those schools.
