Chances to UC Berkeley, Rice, Duke, Notre Dame (Will Chance Back)

Hi all, I am a rising junior, and I was just wondering where my GPA and my extracurriculars would put me. I know that it is hard to determine “target colleges” without my SAT scores and future grades, but I am going to start touring colleges soon. Therefore, it would be helpful to know schools that I have a good chance of admission at. I also attend an “ivy league feeder” school, where 20% of the class matriculates into ivy leagues, while another 30% of the class matriculates into top 30 colleges. Yet, I don’t want to rely on these stats. While I attend a rigorous school, I know that it only gives me a slight advantage in the admissions process. I was interested in Rice, Duke, University of Chicago, Boston College, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and Notre Dame.

As someone who’s attending Berkeley in the fall, I can say that if you do well (around 2000>) on the SAT with your background UC Berkeley and most likely UCLA are good bets. The community involvement and civic activity you show will definitely impress Berkeley. Cal likes people that strive to make their communities a better place, and combined with your grades and the nature of your school, I think it would be worth it to apply. Good luck and have fun!
