What are my chances of getting accepted into the University of Richmond (RD)? And what are my chances of getting merit scholarships? Any feedback is appreciated!
I am hispanic and a US citizen but have never lived in the USA.
Major of interest: biochemistry or applied mathematics (either one with a path in pre-med)
-9.63 GPA (out of 10) which is about a 3.95 (out of 4)
-1370 on the new SAT
-800 on SAT Spanish and 710 on SAT Math level 2
-5/96 class rank (top 6%)
-IB diploma by the end of High School. Math, Chemistry, Theory of knowledge, and History (4) in standard level. And Spanish, English, and Art in higher level.
-115 on the ibt TOEFL
Extracurriculars:
Participation in UN Models both as a delegate and as a member of the organizing commitee, tutoring, temporary jobs during summer and winter vacations, math club, film club, drum class.
Honors (there are not many honors where I live):
50% school-recognized scholarship in 9th grade
Full state and school-recognized scholarship in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.
I think you have a good shot given your scores and EC. Richmond has a holistic process so make sure to spend time working on your essays. Best of luck!
I also think you have a great shot. Just FYI, UR does not have an applied math major, but you can tailor your electives in the math major to fit your interests.

I’ve had bad luck so far with my college acceptances (denials from Vanderbilt and UVA/deferral from Georgia Tech), so I’m starting to get a little nervous. Any insight would be appreciated!
@jacketsgirl2222 My D just got in ED2. OOS with 4.3 w gpa, 8 AP’s (5’s & 4’s), 29 ACT so u seem much better than that! She had a super strong essay but we were kind of surprised. She did a summer thing at W&M for 4 credits last summer in her history major, but not many EC’s. You seem a great chance, did you apply? Good luck!
