please chance me...how should i improve etc?

Check out QuestBridge immediately.

^yes i am applying to some colleges through questbridge but stanford isnt on the list.

Dude, from what I can see, you should have a better chance than anybody at getting in. There were very few areas which could be improved, it’s quite impressive. I would just say that higher SATs could possibly increase your chances (altho yours are quite high, and Stanford doesn’t look at numbers as much as most schools) and of course if you were a minority (hispanic or african-american) it would increase your chances, but nothing you can do about that. But people say that Stanford is very unpredictable, almost random, so there’s really no way to know.

Don’t fret it, if I were the admissions director, i’d accept you in a heartbeat.

^thank you. i got very discouraging comments in another forum. everyone says different things.

do u think i should retake the ACT or concentrate on essays or do both?

You could do both of those things, since these are the relatively weaker parts of your application, as mentioned here.

Let’s put it this way. My S is applying even though his ECs are a bit weaker than yours in volunteerism (OTOH he’s a two sport athlete) but the rest of his stats are quite similar to yours.

it will be my 6th time taking the ACT then…(however the school only has record of one)

i got somewhere btw. a 30-32 all times…should i still retake?

bumppppppppppp

Kill your essays. Put everything into it. And yeah…your main test score ACT is alright it translates to a 2100 on the SAT I think?

^Yeah. Around a 2150.

weak stats. slim chance at Stanford

with your parents earning so little, how are you affording to take so many ACTs

Here is why I think the CC discussion board should be viewed as nothing more than mindless entertainment. I completely disagree with Asian75 on every statement he/she has made on this message board in the chance threads that I have viewed. I don’t know if I am wrong or he/she is wrong, but how can anyone tell for sure who is posting from a source of direct knowledge or just making stuff up.

It is impossible to predict who will be accepted or not at Stanford.

@cardfan: I dunno if you’re a Stanford student or just a fan of Stanford. Of course it’s possible to predict who will be accepted to Stanford unless someone is borderline . However, I am completely agree with you that CC discussion board should be view as entertainment but not “mindless”. I am sure most if not all ppl here put their thoughts into writing these comments.

superjew - few waivers, and state-mandated free test. The other 50$ i took out of my own account. I work but give most of my money to parents.

asian- anything i can do to improve now?

It’s kinda late to try to improve now. R you a senior or you already graduated?

im a senior…if i was graduated i wouldnt be asking for a chance thread.
