Chances? (Will chance back)

Hello everyone, I am a Senior in high school and am wondering what you guys think my chances are for getting into these schools.

GPA/SCORES
10th-11th UW GPA: 3.8
10th-11th W GPA: 4.32
Highest SAT: 2190 (CR 710, M 800, W 680)
Highest ACT: 33
AP Scores: 4’s → United States History, Calculus AB, and English Lang. 3’s → Biology
SAT II’s: Biology (TBD), and Math II (TBD)

HONORS/AP COURSES
As a quick note, my school doesn’t offer that many AP courses, and the ones that they do often didn’t work with my schedule. Also, I didn’t want to spread myself thin as I had a lot of other activities I took part in.

10th: Honors Chemistry, and Honors Precalculus
11th: AP Calculus AB, AP English Lang, AP Biology, and APUSH
12th: AP Environmental Science, AP Statistics, AP Computer Science, and AP Psychology (May do AP Physics online)

Rank: 15/259 ←— Honestly thought I was higher, but I’m in the top 10% so I’m not complaining

BACKGROUND INFO
Hispanic Male
Low income (<40k)
School is not good at all (Not sure where we rank, but I know we are Title One funded.)
On Naviance, the students from my school who were admitted to some of the UC’s and other elite universities had scores and GPAs below the average (Average SAT/ACT for Berkeley: 1950, 29)
Had terrible circumstances my Junior year (Depressed and very sick mom along with my brother who deals with anxiety. I would come home usually at 6, I had to cook for my little brother as my mom was devastated by a divorce, and then helped him with homework until 8, and then would start my homework at around 9 after talking to my mom about her day.)

EXTRACIRRUCULARS
Sports
Soccer 3 Years (2 Varsity, skipped my junior year due to personal issues)
Golf 3 Years (3 Varsity, MVP all 3 years, Captain my Junior and Senior year)
Water Polo 1 Year (Haha, kinda funny, my friends had played since freshman year and tried pressuring me into playing all of high school and I finally cracked my junior year. Lets just say it’s not my sport.)

Clubs
Video Production Club (Founder, provided the school bulletin and would video sports games and create highlight clips) 11th-12th
CSF (Member) 9-12th
Computer Coding Club (VP) 12th
Circle of Friends (Member) 12th

Not stellar, but later on in high school I tried to step my game up and join more clubs. Had this attitude Freshman year that clubs were stupid, and boy was I wrong.

Community Service
Helped with a youth club soccer team: 300 hours (9th-11th)
San Diego Rescue Mission: 75 Hours (11th)

Jobs
Courtesy clerk at a grocery store: About 300 hours, was a summer job (10th-11th)

Here are the colleges I will most likely apply to…
Stanford, Yale, Duke, John Hopkins, UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, and Cal Poly SLO

Overall, I’m just a normal kid in comparison to what I’ve seen online (winning science fairs, internships, CRAZY awards, etc.), and would like get accepted into some of these colleges. Let me know what you think and I hope those who are feeling the same pressure I am right now get into their dream college.

Also, I am applying to Stanford and the other elite colleges just to see what happens. I understand its a high reach.

Solid stats, and of course being Latino will help you out a bit.

Solid Ec’s, I like them. Honestly, make sure your essays demonstrate the full you. Make sure they really get to see who you are. Easier said than done. You want them to want to be your friend, op you want them to be eager to meet you in person, through your personal statements!

Honestly you make a good bid for all your schools, keep up the good work, and make sure to put in a lot of work on your essays

Chance back?

I’d say you are a very good candidate for these schools

Bump

Your grades and test scores are not too bad for these schools. Do you have any leadership positions? Also maybe mention your little slump in your essay or anywhere on the application? If you write a really good essay and letter of rec you have a fair shot. Chance me back? Thanks in advance! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1819452-what-are-my-chances-of-getting-into-unc-chapel-hill.html#latest

Bump

no. sorry. :))

:)) nah but fo real

You’re a pretty good candidate for most of these schools! Your GPA/ACT is impressive, and you have a good set of extracurriculars. I would consider Stanford, Yale, and Duke reach schools due to the competitive pool of applicants-however, the good news is that if you’re admitted to these schools I think tuition is completely free (They offer free tuition for families with income under 60k/year.)
