My GPA is a 2.97, But thats because I really messed up my Freshman year of High School, I failed a world language class. My GPA for that year was a 2.2, My Sophomore year I did better and Finished with a 3.1 GPA. My junior year I finished with a 3.85 GPA but it all accumulated to a 2.97. Do you think I can get it. I got a 1850 on my SATS Do they like to see good Test scores and progression in grades? Do colleges really pay attention to freshman year? Will they really pay attention to what I did back then?
I also was a People to People Student Ambassador.
I have over 50 Hours of volunteer work.

Now this is the dilemma: if any of these schools want to increase diversity, you have a better shot than your stats would suggest. It's very difficult to determine that with publics....

Thank You! Finally someone!` My School sends out 3 diff. GPA's Weighted, Unweighted and College, and the college is an average of sophomore and junior year. I hope most will just pay attention to those two years. I also hope being a minority will really boost me. Thanks! Anyone else?

i think youd have a good chance if you have great essays and recs. the gpa may be an issue, but i think looking at the transcript theyd understand. i def wouldnt give up hope. youve got a shot

how does your high school figure GPA cause that really changes things up. Like my school is simply A=4 B=3 C=2 D=1 F=0. but some schools do that differently but try to make your extras shine through and it could happen. good luck!!! =)
