Will I even go to college???

My GPA is a 2.97, But thats because I really messed up my Freshman year of High School, I failed a world language class. My GPA for that year was a 2.2, My Sophomore year I did better and Finished with a 3.1 GPA. My junior year I finished with a 3.85 GPA but it all accumulated to a 2.97. Do you think I can get it. I got a 1850 on my SATS Do they like to see good Test scores and progression in grades? Do colleges really pay attention to freshman year? Will they really pay attention to what I did back then?
I also was a People to People Student Ambassador.
I have over 50 Hours of volunteer work.
I have been an Active participant in my towns little league baseball
and Im a 2 Year varsity baseball player
Do you think I can get in? I am also Hispanic and from out of state.

Now for the schools I want to go to... ( Im From NJ)

UConn
UDelaware
Indiana - Bloomington
UMass- Amherst
Penn State -UP
Purdue
Rutgers
Seton Hall
Drexel
University Of Wisconsin
University of Maryland - CP
Towson Universiy

But really focused on the schools from UConn to Rutgers

Now, I know some of these are stretches and some of them may be a little Safe, but please chance me for all if you can!?!?!

Thank You!

Bump bump bump!

I think you have a decent chance at getting into those schools. A lot of schools will weigh freshman year lighter than the other two years because it is, for many applicants, the worst year. UCONN, Penn State, and U of Indiana may be slightly harder to get into, but I think you will definitely get in somewhere.

Make sure to indicate on your application in an additional essay or something why you "messed up" freshman year.

Thanks! I hahaha too bad those are my top 3. Anyone Else!!!!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!??!!?

perhaps, try and emphasize the EC's in your applications? kind of to show college admissions people that while you were getting a 2-point-whatever, you were doing some productive stuff on the side... even if it may not necessarily be totally true - who goes all out freshman year, even these days? lol - just sort of accentuate your sports and volunteer/community service and such. but because your gpa isn't THAT bad (it really isn't!!), I think you have more than a fair shot at all of those schools, so you really shouldn't stress. in fact, for all intents and purposes, you have a 3.0! Which is respectable :)

you're gonna be all right =)

Thank You! BUMP!

Bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
