I know what my top schools are- Columbia, Georgetown, Brown, and Cornell. What are my chances of getting in to these schools? Also, more importantly what do you think are some universities I should really look at knowing my stats below?

3.75 at UCSB in a double major of Business Economics with emphasis in Accounting and Political Science.

Applying for Political Science or Goverment when transferring
-Internships with Deloitte, Wells Fargo and Wachovia.
-Researcher for a NSF 5 year project emphasized on the internets impact of social movements and political protests.

Head of University Misconduct in the Office of the Student Advocate. Those not familiar with this department, it helps students defend their cases when charged with violations i.e. cheating. It also helps mediate any situation that a student may have encountered with authorities at UCSB.
-Part of a Political Science research team focused on the impacts of Facebook when it comes to political knowledge v political participation.
-There are plenty of other things I have done, but these are the main ones.

My high school GPA is a weighted 4.0 while taking 6 AP classes. My SAT is a 1980 (Math 720 Writing 680 Reading 580), SAT II BIO 790 and SAT II MATH 720. My ACT score is a 30.

Also, I am looking to take my next two quarters off to go for a self-discovery experience. I am going to be in a Global Peace Corps program known as Buddhist Immersion. Here I will be teaching English to children and monks who wish to become multilingual lectures across the globe. I will also be attending many mediation retreats and living in the monastery.

really good chance at Cornell and Georgetown also Columbia and Brown are not out of reach but still include some safeties if you dont want to be at UCSB at all.

I can’t, I leave for Thailand January 30th and the next test is February 6th. Do you have any other suggestions? If i changed my flight it would costs hundreds of extra dollars, do you think it’d be worth it?

Also, I have ADD and refuse to get extra time on tests (a huge reason for my low test scores). Do you think I should mention this in my essays?

Is it medically documented? Your wording leads me to believe it is, but you do not want to take the adaptation for the test. Would you require special services at the next school? If not, I wouldn’t, since your college profile is pretty strong. HS test scores are only a small part of the equation.

Haha no worries. So you would suggest continue my plans and not take the ACT? Looking at my stats how do you think I stand for the schools mentioned

Ehhhhh, I’m not going to comment, only because I literally only applied to NYU and I don’t know jack about most other colleges, particularly Ivies. I suspect ironicallyunsure (Cornell '12) and Flowerhead (Georgetown Alum) will pop up on this post.

As for the ACT, no I wouldn’t bothering taking it again. That’s my opinion, but like I said, I don’t know Ivies.

My boyfriend has ADD, so I’m familiar with it and with Additude. Heh.

He was recently diagnosed, it’s been a hell of a year. He controlled it pretty well (graduated from Cornell as a engineering major) but then sort of melted down.

It’s actually pretty spooky, he ALSO explored Buddhism and meditation during college. He went on a few retreats after he graduated.

Anyway, good luck with everything. I don’t want to clog up your thread with random banter. :-P
