-Quantitative Trading & Research:
Started a firm which uses research conducted to build currency trading models. These models are then used to manage client accounts by speculating in the currency markets (Typically pairs involving the G-7 countries with weighting on the US dollar). I have been involved in the markets trading my personal accounts since I was 12. In equities, and now in FX.

-Research:
Currently conducting research in Economics to send to several competitions in 2006. Focus is on US labor economics. I cant provide much details on it in a public forum.

-Music:
Indian classical vocal training since 11. Focus on Bengali folk music, bengali classics, and Sanskrit hymns.

Internships:

-Law Firm: Worked as a summer associate intern at a pro bone law firm in NYC. Worked in their immigrant protection unit where I conducted legal research for attorneys and prepared case files. This was during the summer of 2003-2004

-Hedge Fund: Currently interning as an assistant trader at a quantitative hedge fund here in NYC. Functions include taking classes and doing some misc. work that needs to be completed after hours.

Involved in school clubs (FIRST robotics-head of animations), and sports teams (Track). Just got involved in school government. Looking to start a finance club and a science olympiad team in the school both to be used to take part in different city wide and statewide contests.

As you can see nothing overly special about this resume.

Comments?Suggestions?

"As you can see nothing overly special about this resume."

Nice attempt to look modest and normal.

Uh, since this is a chances thread, I will gently rub your ego and tell you that you're on the right track with those internships...especially since (I presume with the psat thing) you're a junior.

thanks. Yea I am a junior.

Bumping up.

I think it looks good so far. Getting those school clubs started will look good for leadership and school involvement. The Quantitative Trading and Research looks very interesting.

Just wondering, where are you from? East coast, west coast, etc.

Thanks. East coast of course (Thus the location text on the bottom of my sn says "NYC" ;))

Ahh.. sorry, missed that lol.. Anyway, I like how your ECs are all focused in the economics/business-type field, but at the same time they vary from one another.

No worries. Thanks I just really did what interested me.

BTW should I even mention my performance at this mutual fund managing contest? Basically this company has around 50000-60000 different portfolios which are managed and are ranked every month on several intervals. I have been doing this for around a year now (well I did stop from february to may as can be seen by the performance).

Here it is: Contest Fund

Just go down to where it says fund rankings?

the only well known school in nyc is stuyvesant and penn hates stuyvesant(i know first hand), so... you don't have a shot... jk try anyway, you never know.

what are you talking about? there are several prep schools in NYC- bronx sci, hunter, horace mann, brooklyn tech, just to name a few

Haha Stuy the only well known school?! Buddy we just hit 2 nobel prizes two years in a row (2004+2005) without any regards to the bunch won in the past. That alone garners recognition. Naturally now you know what school I am talking about.

BTW bxscience, tech and hunter are actually public. For prep you have collegiate, horace mann, dwight, trinity.

AAAHh...So the modesty fades

I gave it a shot didnt I ;).

uhhhhhhh what school are you talking about...

Bx..............

Bronx Science. There....

Roy J. Glauber, a Harvard professor, just won the Nobel Prize and graduated from BX in 1941.
