Participating in ROV Mate competition senior year

Played varsity tennis and track freshmen through senior year

And now, what I consider the weakest part of my application- my SAT scores
SAT II: Math II- 770 Physics- 780
SAT I: Math: 740 Reading: 730 Writing: 720 (this is my best composite)

My SAT I scores are in the middle 50%, but they're not very high regardless.

I got great recs from my teachers, and two supplemental recommendations from my past internships.

So what does CC think my chances of getting into Princeton University?

"Your EC profile screams “I love physics” and yet all your lowest scores are in physics, which screams “I am not good at physics.”

You tell me what your chances are."

Well, I did get a 780 on the physics subject test, and a 5 on Physics B. But yes, that three was a mistake on my part. I didn’t prepare myself enough for the test, and I paid for it, but I decided to include it to at least show the admissions committee I tried to continue my physics education independently, beyond that which my school offers.

I come from a very small school (~250 kids) on a rural island in the northwest, so I don’t exactly have the best options.

“yeah thats sort of ironic, but a good app. maybe don’t include that 3”

But thanks, it’s nice to hear someone say that.

You know what Newest Newb? You are a ■■■■■. The fact that so many nervous people post their frantic questions on CC means prey is bountiful for you. But I understand where you are coming from. I realize that starting a chance thread is just an attempt to ease my nerves. I am quite paranoid about my chances of getting into the various colleges I am applying to, and I woe the fact that I did not apply EA to any schools, but at that time my SAT scores weren’t even in the middle 50% of most of the schools I am applying to. It is fruitless to post a chance thread, and it can easily be interpreted as bragging.

You are right that I love physics; it is my end-goal to become a research physicist. I have been told by several physicists that Princeton is amongst the institutions offering the best undergraduate physics education, hence my great interest in Princeton.

The reason that I posted this is that I live in an isolated community, so I do not have that great an understanding of what a strong application looks like, so yes, I am pointlessly asking CC’s opinion.

By the way, you are particuarly cruel for posting “youaresoscrewed” on threads about submitting the application 2 minutes late.

And you take life (and people on the internet) far too seriously. He makes a valid point, and yes he does so in a manner that is mocking etc etc, but that is fun.
