GREAT Essay

WHAt are my chances at rochester? ED to rochester and AWESOMe interview?
Visited campus, have a great relationship with dean from my area, faxing first quarter grades which is all A/A- and like one B, and doing Early Decision

bump..................................................

I would say that it is a pretty big reach considering your gpa. There is only so much interviews and extracurriculars can get you unless you have done something otherworldly.

My cousing got into Rochester a few years ago with a 1350(760M, 590V) and something around a 3.7 GPA. he had average EC's.

anyone else????????

Yeah, it's definitely iffy.

You might need to go someplace else for a year or two and apply later as a transfer.

U of R places a lot of emphasis on GPA. I think OneMom is correct.

i got into University of Rochester, and this reply is only to show everyone that gpa isnt everything and if u have enough to buffer ur application u will get in. BTW thanks everybody for all your opinions and advice

UR doesn't seem to care much about GPA. Two kids with 3.1's and 1300+s-1400s got in from my high school (this was two and three years ago) as we keep a big book on who gets in with what stats to which school.

Most people will find that whatever they expect to get on their SATs are vastly differently than what they actually get.

Wow, that is great. What SAT scores did you end up with?

i ended with i think around a 1950
