Chances

I know ND is a reach for me, but I love the University and have been interested in going to ND since the 1st Grade. I actually donated to the school's scholarship fund back in the 3rd grade, and have a letter from ND after I sent them a letter about why I was donating and why I hoped to attend ND one day. Anyways, I hope none of you actually wasted time reading that non-sense, so will you guys chance me?

Schools that I'm applying to: (Yes, I know a few of these are big time reaches)

American University
George Washington University
Washington and Lee University
Notre Dame
Cornell University
Emory University
UNC-Chapel Hill
University of Miami

Mission trips are a big plus, so is band (ND LOVES band members). Grades are OK. To improve your chances, you need to improve your test scores a good deal, and possibly add to your volunteer work. Good luck.

Could be tough unless you can add at least 125 more SAT points. Community service this summer is a good idea. Work on your essays.

Quite frankly, unless you’re legacy, or they REALLY need a person with your qualifications for marching band, you’re not going to get in. You need higher test scores, with at least >1450/1600 on sat or at or above 33 on ACT. Good luck.

SAT needs to be much higher, weighted GPA could use a bump as well.

Looks pretty good, except for your SAT I. I recommend studying hard for both the SAT and the ACT, to get into Notre Dame’s range. Your grades, rank, and ECs all look about right, and make sure to spend time pouring yourself into those essays, they make a big difference at ND.

Unless you are very familiar with the OP’s school, you cannot say this. Every weighting system is different, we have no idea how this one works. You’re likely making your comment based on YOUR weighting system, which is probably much different. Go off of UW, there’s really little else we can do.

You look okay, but definitely not a shoo in. As people mentioned Notre Dame has become a bit obsessive over test scores so it is really important to break that 2100 barrier. (32 or so ACT)

Talk to the admissions guys at ND it really helps.

^Thank you!

I know you guys are probably a bit tired of me, and I am taking your advice and studying for my SAT retake and the ACT, but would it help if I mentioned that I play two rarer instruments when it comes to band? Baritone and Tuba/Sousaphone
