I applied as an Astrophysics major and I'm not sure how competitive that major is at UC Santa Cruz.
Do you think I will be accepted? Also I'm from CA so it would be instate if that makes a difference.

You chose the right place to major in Astrophysics, UCSC has one of the best Astrophysics programs in the whole world. I don’t know if the major is that competitive to get into but with your UC GPA you should be able to get accepted.

with your strong ACT score (not great SAT tho) and good GPA, you have a VERY VERY good chance of getting in UCSC!

Applying for astrophysics may or may not make acceptance more difficult.
To give you an idea of how great their program is, my cousin just got his phd in theoretical astrophysics from there. He was accepted into every post doc program that he applied to and will head to Harvard for a 5 year post doc with the Einstein Fellowship. UCSC has a great astrophysics dept.

Techhexium: I knew it was great but not one of the best in the world. That’s great then!

Tigerash: that’s good news! thanks!

Iman123194: wow that’s amazing congrats to your cousin.
