Chances?

Hey guys! I’m graduating from my CC this Spring and I plan on transferring thereon after.

Right now, I’ve applied to Cal Poly SLO (#1), CSULB, CSUMB, and CSUF.

Cal Poly is my number one by far, I went to the transfer day and everything for it. I really want to go there. Can anyone give me some insight on my chances?

Major: Psychology
Current College: Folsom Lake College
IGETC: Done
Major prep: All for my major is done, just finishing up Political Science and other GE to fill for graduation.
GPA: 3.44
EC’s: Work 15+ hrs/week & Volunteering, also apart of Student Activities Club on campus, holding a position in the club.
In-state: El Dorado County

Thank you!!

SLO is always a tough admit especially if not local.

Below is SLO’s projection targets for Freshman and Transfers. According to the chart, they expect around 504 applicants for 19 spots in Psychology. If they have a 33% yield, then the expected acceptance rate is around 11%.

Since you have IGETC and major prep done, that increases your chances so I would say you have a decent chance. Much will depend upon how you compare to the other applicants for Psych.

CSUMB a definite accept. For CSUF and CSULB, you also have very good chances.

Best of luck.

@AstroRogers seems like you were looking for proximity to a beach. Why no TAG to UCI or UCSB?

I followed the curriculum and recommendations for the CSU transfer, not the UC one. Also, I prefer the CSU system over the UC’s personally, not too big of a research guy myself and of course the $$$.

Thank you for your insight. I really appreciate it and I am sure so many others do! I’ll update when I find out.
