There’s separate forum for BS/MD programs–
http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/multiple-degree-programs/

You should ask about BS/MD admissions there. Do you have any physician shadowing? Community service with the disadvantaged (in the US)?

Pre-med is an intention, not a specific major. Just about any US college or university offers the sources needed to be a pre-med since they are mostly lower level and introductory level courses. Med schools place little emphasis on the name of your undergrad school. It’s your MCAT and GPA is that is the first big discriminator the med school applicants face.

When choosing a college, take pre-med out of the equation and find the college that offers you the best combination of cost, fit and opportunity.

Cost because med school is hideously expensive and you’ll want to minimize your undergrad debt.

Fit because happier students do better academically.

Opportunity-- this includes offering opportunities to explore careers beyond pre-med because many pre-meds change their minds about pursuing medicine as career.

good advice above. Your list is good but needs some safety/likely schools added to it.

@ahkpuppy Here is the specific thread for this year in multiple program section.

Post here and follow that thread.

thanks so much for your help; yes, i am the vp of my towns leos club (community service) and have 30* hours of physician shadowing. i also started a fundraiser for CHOP at my school.

@ahkpuppy

You should realize that pretty much everyone applying to these programs have similar or better credentials. So I would say your SAT and gpa may drag down your chances in these. They most of the time don’t care about high school reputation. Daughter was in similar situation wrt gpa from a tough school, but all other near perfect credentials kind of compensated to some extent. She still didn’t receive interviews from as many programs as she should have despite all the accomplishments.

Have a good back up plan of going traditional route. Rutgers honors college is a pretty good pathway to medicine.

Indians from Asia are overly represented in BS/MD applicant pool, so you pretty much compete against your own kind.

Your chance is low since you don’t seem have the relevant SAT2 subject tests in Bio and Chem (not on your list) while every interviewed BS/MD applicant has their Bio and Chem SAT2 scores in the top (750+) range.

Well known? Why? Please explain. Also, can your family pay the costs to attend anywhere…or do you have financial restrictions?

The top two well-known & highly-ranked BS/MD programs in northeast US are - Northwestern (HPME) & Brown (PLME), both are super-competitive with admitted students typically having top Ivies (HYP) acceptances at the same time.

Northwestern is in Chicago which is in the Midwest, not the northeast.
