Frankly - unless your GPA and SAT's raise significantly - its unlikely.

Villanova is a disaster in the application process - I wouldn't set my heart on the place. They lost my essay - even though they had the other materials which were in the same envelope - including the check which they cashed. Although I emailed them to verify that they had everything - and they said they did - they came back later and said I had an incomplete application and had missed the EA deadline. I sent another copy of the essay and could never get anyone to verify that they had received it. Just getting someone to return a phone call or email was a joke - they just didn't bother.

There are a lot of great schools out there - shop around for one which you can love and will love you back and won't play with your head on your application and acceptance. Its almost August and many many kids have been waitlisted for an extended period of time and Nova isn't playing straight with them. I would avoid unless you are legacy.

I'm sorry to say this but no. You do not have a good chance. This past year Nova became extremely competitive. The average applicant raised from something along the lines of a 3.7UW 1220-1380 to about a 3.9UW 1320-1480.

Also, I agree that Nova is a pain to deal with over the phone/internet. But in person the place is so nice and everyone is very friendly. IMO they just have a poor undergraduate admissions process.

While a good school, I don't think Villanova's SAT range went from a 1220-1380 up to a 1320-1480.

That is a 100 point increase in both the 25% and 75% scores in one year.

Villanova is getting tougher to get into, but it is certainly not as tough as you say NDphish.

http://www.villanova.edu/enroll/admission/application/undergrad/statistics.htm
Here are the stats class of 2010

This is to proove that the avg appliacant has improved by quite a bit. This is taken directly from US News Reports for Villanova. These are apparently the 2004 stats for Nova.

Class rank (top 10, 25, 50)

Top 10 percent of high school class: 48%
Top 25 percent of high school class: 82%
Top 50 percent of high school class: 98%

First-year students submitting high school class standing: 43%
Average high school GPA: 3.7

First-year students submitting GPA: 93%

First-year students submitting SAT scores: 98%
SAT I scores (25/75 percentile):
Verbal: 580 – 660
Math: 600 – 680
Combined: 1180 – 1340

Now compare that with this years applicant pool. Yes, the point increase in both the 25th and 75th percnetiles has gone up about 100 points in the last two years.

Villanova looks to be improving nicely by those numbers.

We will see eaxctly what the 25%-75% SAT range is for Villanova when U.S. News releases their 2007 rankings in late August.

Many school inflate stats such as SAT scores on their websites to make their admissions standards appear tougher than they actually are.

U.S. News will have the correct range.

I just think a 100 point increase in both the 25% and 75% scores in 2 years is a little too optimistic.

Your SAT's are your weakest point right now. See how you do when re-taking in the fall. Good idea to visit and express interest if you really want to go there.
