Chances?

<p>Hi guys. Im strongly considering Bowdoin as one of my top colleges on my list.
Just wondering what you guys think of my qualifications, etc and chances at making it into bowdoin.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.802 cumulative (unweighted)
Courses: This year, 3 APs (Bio, Chem, Stats) 2 IBs ( Lit A1, French HL) and my school only offers honors and above level for all courses</p>

<p>Courseload equivalents:</p>

<p>6+ years bio science (mol. bio, anat. and physiology, aps, etc)
5+ years lab sciences (chem, physics)
4 years Lit
3 years social sciences
3 years music
4 years arts (electives)
4 years math ( 2 APs, 2 honors)
AP Calc BC: 5</p>

<p>CR - 690
Math - 720
Writing - 730</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:</p>

<p>FLy Fishing/Casting competitve - Distance casting winner Jr division 5 years consecutive in canada regionals</p>

<p>Biology Volunteer - we go around to indian reservations to help the natives learn about how to take care of their lands and stuff</p>

<p>School Guitar and Mandolin Ensemble/Orchestra - 1st guitar (equivalent of viola in a string orchestra) 2 years </p>

<p>Hip Hop Dance - Cwalk and Breakdance … I am a co-owner and admin of an online , free forum based cwalk community (<a href=“http://www.walkbox.net%5B/url%5D”>www.walkbox.net</a> come check it out) and we have tournaments, etc and more (in the middle of a mass relocation of LOTS of members due to a recent change of hosting and server crash… haha)</p>

<p>i am from a NJ suburb, not canada</p>

<p>and also, i have my name on 2 pending scientific medical publications (1 on acute brain trauma, one on oncologic research) as co-author</p>

<p>Again, like most successful students you're in that competitive bracket where you are obviously qualified for admission to schools like Bowdoin but you it's still a crapshoot. Your scores will not hurt you at all, don't be so self-depracating on your IIs because that's just annoying since they're obviously decent. The science stuff gives you an advantage since most of the applicants here are very humanities-centered. I'd say you have a good chance.</p>

<p>You certainly have a good chance, but then again so do probably over 50% of the applicants and they only accept 25%; so a lot of it is just luck of the draw.</p>
