chances

so my friend really wants to go to Boulder, these are her stats:

3.2 unweighted GPA
(taking hard classes senior year, no APs but no slacker classes)
ACT: 27

Captain of cheerleading squad
a part of a competitive cheerleading team (outside of school)
a lot of great extracurriculars

do you think she can get in?

Your friend's GPA is going to hurt her, although the ACT score is well above average. Look at the thread below about "What do you think of Boulder?" where I posted the average GPAs and test scores for the SAT and ACT in each of the respective Colleges within the University.

Overall, I'd say the chance of getting in is 50-50, maybe a little less than that. Best of luck!!

I think CSU would be a better fit for her.

I think she has a chance. Her GPA is a bit low as is her ACT score, but one good thing about Boulder is that they look more at your application overall and at you as a person (to the extent that they can) and don't focus solely on academics.

yeah her ACT isn't low.. it's above average for boulder.. but yeah she also like University of Denver, how does that compare?

If she's from CO, she'll be fine
remember, automatic admissions to people with 3.25 and 28 ACT...so, she's one point off, but I'm sure they'll let her in!

On DU...
I'm not so much a fan of DU. It's an okay campus but it's way too expensive for what it's giving. I did their "Hyde Interview" and it was just not impressive at all. If your friend really wants to go to a Colorado school, stick to the state ones (CSU/CU) because they are much better price/quality than DU.

Well
depending on what you to do

CU- Chemistry/physics/pre-med
CSU- Vet/Pre-med
DU- Business/IR

CU's business program is one of the tops in the country, so CU for business as well

yeah she's interested in business... thanks a lot!
