Chances

I'm more interested in this question:
Just how hard are the academic standards to get into Princeton? I read that with the new Dean of Admissions, the academic standards have become more rigid...is that true?

In other words, is not having a 3.95+ unweighted GPA a death sentence?

Anyway, it's worth a shot to ask about my chances based on my academic stats:
Gender: Female (Asian)
School: Strong competitive public.
Rank: No ranking system at our school, but in top 5%/10%.
GPA: 3.89 (most of my B's were in freshman year or in non-core classes)
WGPA: 4.7 (I take several required non-honors classes, but otherwise, I have taken all honors classes)
SAT 1: 800 M, 800 V, 800 W
SAT II: 790 MIIC, 790 Physics, 770 Chem
APs: Mixes of 5's/4's, took 7.
Courseload: Pretty tough.

Hook: None.

I have a bunch of other awards and strong ECs. I probably had a strong subjective element in the application (essays, recs, etc...).

What I'm really interested in knowing is...when it comes down to it, is a 3.89 too low for Princeton?

Thanks for any feedback.

Well Princeton recalculates your GPA without ninth grade included. You said that most of your B's were in 9th grade so you can recalculate your GPA without them. Also, even without that adjustment, a 3.89 is by no means too low for Princeton. In fact, people get in with far lower GPA's. However, with that said, you have to have great essays and great ec's to stand out...otherwise you will just be another qualified applicant in a HUGE pool of qualified applicants.
