This summer I attended Girls State & a summer engineering program @ M.I.T. I held 2 jobs junior year, have one lined up already for senior year

Scientific Research:
did 9th and 10th grade (what had started as a science fair project), won some local awards, got inducted as an associate member in the Sigma Xi society (does this mean anything? or do a lot of people get this?)
...didn't have any 11th grade b/c did research on non-scientific subject (chinese economic reform)

Any thoughts? I'm worried because I don't have anything particularly outstanding (no Intel, no AIME, etc.). I'm interested in Electrical Engineering.

I ran through your statistics through an extensive computer metric and I found your chances are roughly 1052

Excellent response Grau. I assure you that this response has never been made before and is therefore quite funny and original.

Seriously though: You are definitely in the qualified range for Caltech, but you are by no means guaranteed admission. Good luck! The only thing I suggest you do more of is research in a scientific field if you can.

He, you might even get in if you do some revolutionizing culinary research, but you'll probably want to go to Paris then :)
