I want to major in Criminology. Is it a good idea to declare my major?

What are some other schools with Criminology/Forensics that I should consider?

And what makes SUNY Albany like a really good school, environment-wise? (ie - people, places)

Thank You!

oh how does SUNYAlbany calculate GPA?

are you posting your stats as a joke? all u need to get into Albany is a pulse...I've visited the the campus and it is by far the ugliest campus i've ever seen...the dorms are worse than prison cells...the people are rly snotty, who go out every weeknight and get drunk....its not an ideal school academically either..its 3rd tier now

Good grades.
My son is about to begin his freshman classes this fall. His dorm room is a suite and is nice. He joined the Project Renaissance program...you can look it up on the Albany site.

I know of several of my friends kids that have gone there and they really liked it. It's with any school, you get what you put into it.

I have talked with his advisor and she was extremely helpful and gets involved with the students.

My son had an 89 average in HS, un weighted and a 1250 on his SAT and he got in...so with your grades you should get in easy.
Good Luck

what exactly is an 89 in HS? i dont understand that system sorry, because we use the 4.0 GPA scale.
the Project Renaissance - what is your son majoring in?
