Stanford EPGY Biotechnology- I think I have a hook here...it was absolutely amazing. I want to enter the BioTech field now for sure.
Volunteered in hospital in Bangladesh during summer
Research Assistant to doctor at U. of Boston on enzymatic side-effects of delayed appendectomy operations.
Scraped onto JV Water Polo for one year...I'm not a very sporty person.

The obvious Achilles heel here is the GPA...hopefully, the various extracurriculars w. a continuous thread in either Business and Science/Medicine will help.

WCAS or McCormick?

Weinberg- thanks

Low Reach RD.
Bring up GPA for better chances, but you have pretty good EC's. Maybe that can atleast somewhat make up for your GPA? Nevertheless, try to get it a lot higher this year!

What is low reach? Does that mean I'm just under a match, or it's a reach with low chance?

A reach, but with a somewhat good chance.

[High Reach = next to impossible]

Gotcha. Thanks. At this point, GPA isn't going to chance much...I seem to have contracted terminal senioritis.

You're a good candidate. Go for it!
Better yet if you apply ED; if not, make sure your senior year grades are very strong.

Your GPA and SAT scores are fine. But why Northwestern?

Because it's a great school, in an excellent location. The architecture is a bonus, as is the tightly knit community. Have visited before.

Don't put that for your Why Northwestern Essay though. Just fyi...

I don't think the original poster got my point with respect to "why Northwestern". Thank you Aquamarinee.

It's funny - the "architecture" is about the only thing I don't love about Northwestern!
I think the architecture is a dud compared to places like Wash U, Duke and U of C (but I like it better on almost all other counts).
Beauty is, indeed, in the eyes of the beholder.

When I visited, I think I liked the lake much more than the architecture. There were probably only a few buildings that I really liked. Not that architecture matters too much for me. Hahaha. After all, you're there for the academics and the awesome student body. You probably would get used to the architecture anyhow.

Oh, I thought you were just asking me personally why I'd go to NW. On the 'Why us" question I'll do my research and write a real essay..I know not to just spit their own stats and virtues back at them.
