Dad/Grad
Do you mean subjective? In many instances--and it has been many years since I have seen a FITREP--the questions ask for the evaluators rating of that person's in areas such as "Mission Accomplishment" and "Individual Character"; then whether or not that person is "effective" or demonstrates "initiative."

These are subjective standards. There is no objective score, i.e. a standardized score against which performance may be measured and which are not influenced by personal feelings, interpretations or prejudice.

USNAhopeful. I hope that you will come to realize--and you will as your career advances--that ther is no such thing as an "equal footing" when it comes to issues such as admission or promotion. Everybody is subject to the bias of those who evaluate you or your personal background or the needs of, in this case, the Navy. The fact is, that some will be admitted who have lower GPA score and/or fewer extracurriculars to meet the needs of the Navy. It happens with athletes [recruited athletes], it happens with some applicants who have parents who are well-connected politically [sons or daughters of Senators], it happens with minorities, it happens with others who's parents went to the Academy [some points are given for sons/daughtes of graduates], it happens with women, it happens.

Good luck in your application process.

Bill0510,
Subjective is the correct word (I was an engineering major). But, I think you do agree with what I was trying to say.
