GPA: 89.2, our school doesn't have a 4.0 scale...

SAT: 600 Math, 550 Reading, 600 Writing = 1750 total

I did really bad on two of my mid terms this year(45 in AP computer science), also I'm getting kicked out of my AP calc class getting a Withdrawn Fail for the class.

... is it realistic to think that I stand half a chance at even getting waitlisted from Stony Brook?

I think you have a very good chance. I was accepted with 570 CR, 580 M, 570 W. Top 20%. 91% GPA. Only one AP class which is being taken during senior year.

I could see waitlisted being an option.
I think the average GPA at SB is around a 90, so you're not too far.
Though I'm not sure as far as SAT goes. You might be slightly under there.

But if you have strong EC's, good recommendations, then I could see you getting in, possibly.

I got in, though my stats are higher than yours. 1270/1870 SAT. 29 ACT. 96.7 GPA. Top 12% of class. strong ec's, four strong letters of rec.

pretty sure your in, dont worry. Ur scores are fine.

flamingspirits - But Binghamton has been getting more and more competitive over the years. Keep that in mind.

I really appreciate the feedback, guys. Thanks.

The W/F will hurt you, as will the midterm grades, but it sounds like you're close. There are definitely other variables here -- the rest of your classes, what major you're applying for, etc. Good luck. Are you a senior?

Chris

I'm sure you'll get in.

My SAT was a 1710 (M:630 V:510 W:570)
My GPA is an 84.89 (somewhere around there ~3.0)
I had a good handful of extra curricular activities
Good handful of volunteer hours
I sent in my own essay (different from their supplemental essay). I think it was pretty good
I had 2 teacher recs

But I was accepted to their arts and science program and not the major of my choice (Business). They gave me the option of getting a reconsideration in my 2nd semester though if I achieve a 3.1 GPA.

Good luck
