<p>The funny thing about the “hook” is that I’m not even planning about writing about it in the essay, I was going to talk about drumming, or an internship I might possibly get in a few weeks. Do you think this would be a mistake?</p>

<p>Kind of random, but for Pomona, where I will now be a sophomore, I talked about drumming. I am a girl so I’m sure that helped (and I wrote it in more of a comedic sense), but I talked to admissions officers who were pleased to see something a little different. You seem to have a few hooks- just use them wisely, write creatively, and hope for the best!</p>
<p>thanks for the tip knr, and Pomona is definitely a school I will be applying to. I went there last summer and loved it. Whats funny is now I have another differrent hook… muay thai kickboxing.</p>
