I live in Fairfield and my uncle and dad went to the university (although they graduated ages ago). Given your GPA and rank, I'd say you are actually overqualified for Fairfield! If you like the school, definitely apply. You sound like a shoo-in to me, plus your test scores appear pretty strong as well. Good luck with everything!

Thank you! I definitely liked it a lot, and I would be happy if I ended up going there. What's the community like?

I love Fairfield. There's lots to do; we have two movie theaters, tons of restaurants and shops, and a few beautiful beaches. Fairfield's generally upper-class, but it becomes less so as you move closer to the border with Bridgeport. The university, fortunately, is right in the middle of Fairfield, so it's very safe and the surrounding area is a pleasant suburb. Generally, the surrounding community is white, wealthy, and well-educated. Personally, I like it because Fairfield is a large town with a legitimate town center. The shopping's great and there's the Fairfield Community Theater where you can see films for super low prices. I also love the restaurants and the variety of cuisine they offer (Chinese, Japanese, American Bistro, gourmet, old school burger joints, etc.) Trust me, Fairfield does not suck. I'll miss it when I go to college in the fall.
