I think I've finally narrowed my list down to these schools - chance me?

Tufts University
Boston University
Boston College
Providence College
Salve Regina University
McGill University
University of Connecticut

though I'm still looking into University of Richmond, Wake Forest, and University of San Diego. I can't help but feel like I don't have many targets... I know I probably won't get into Tufts, but when I visited last year it felt like it was the perfect atmosphere for me, and it never hurts to apply, right? I have to double check, but I think I'm applying ED to Tufts, and EA to UConn and BC.

If anyone could suggest any other schools that would fit my stats, it would be greatly appreciated... I'm mainly looking to stay on the East Coast in a suburban/urban area. I'm not big on sports or Greek life, to be honest, but I am looking for an intellectually stimulating environment that isn't too cutthroat competitive at the same time.

Thanks!

Tufts - reach
BU - match
BC - low reach
Providence - in
Salve Regina - in
McGill - low reach
UConn - in

raising your SAT will help your chances, your ECs are also a thin.

bump10char

Holy Cross might be a good option.

thanks! I will definitely take a look at Holy Cross.
I’ve also been thinking about replacing Salve Regina with Ithaca because IC seems to have a broader range of majors and the girl/guy ratio is a little more even. But Ithaca should still be in my safety range, right?

ooh. I like the sound of UVM too.
haha I feel like I have too many safeties and reaches and not enough targets…

Are you looking for west coast schools too? That might give you some great schools for students with your profile. Also, I can’t help but notice, why are you getting recs from an English and Spanish teacher when you seem to be very strong in French, not Spanish?

Your ECs look good, not great, but that’s okay! You aren’t applying to Ivies so I wouldn’t worry too much about that, if you can somehow word your app to show a dedication to dance, I think that would be fantastic (just my opinion though, you seem to be dedicated)!

Good luck!

I’ve thought about some schools in California since I’ve got family there, but I’m kind of worried because of out of state tuition etc.

Good point - I’ve never really thought about that… does it strike you as odd? :stuck_out_tongue: To be honest, I do equally well in Spanish and French (A+s in both), but I felt that last year I definitely connected more with my Spanish teacher than my French teacher.

got my acceptance letter for National Honors Society in the mail today! :)

and, I intend on giving my teachers a manila folder with stamped envelopes etc. for their recommendations. here’s my final, final, final list:

Tufts University
Boston College
Boston University
Connecticut College
University of Connecticut
Providence College
University of Vermont
Salve Regina University
McGill University

bump10char

Pretty sure you can’t apply ED to Tufts and then EA to BC since their EA is restricted.

Yeah, you’re right. Sorry about that; I hadn’t double checked all the decision plans for my schools before posting. I’ve decided to apply EA to PC, UVM, and UConn, and RD every where else.

bump10char

Tufts - high reach
BU - target

Tufts - Reach
BU - Target
BC - Reach
Providence - Target
Slave Regina - Safety
McGill - High Target
UConn - Safety

Good luck!

your SAT scores are on the low side for Tufts which is the only school i really know anything about here.

my cousin went to Tufts and he had around a 2100 SAT score so try bringing it up with the November SAT and youll have a better shot!

reposting my final college list:

Tufts University (RD)
Boston College (RD)
Boston University (RD)
Connecticut College (RD)
University of Connecticut (EA)
Providence College (EA)
University of Vermont (EA)
Salve Regina University (EA)
McGill University (RD)

I think it might be more beneficial to apply Ed to a school like tufts or bc than applying ea to a bunch if your safeties, it might give you an edge you wouldn’t have applying rd? But I guess it depends on who you wanna hear from in december. Good luck though!!!
