<p>2.7 GPA Unweighted.
140 on the PSAT
In state.
High School Junior.
Private bass lessons for over a year.
Co-founded the Political science club at my school.
Played Babe Ruth baseball (not high school) spring, summer, and fall since freshman year.
15 hours of community service for CCD.
No APs or honors.
I want to major in political science.</p>

<p>I'd say you should try to bring up that average. They like to see a trend towards improvement. Does the 140 include a writing section or just Math and Critical Reading? You should aim for at least 1800/2400 (or 1200/1600) on your SAT.</p>

<p>2.7 GPA won't get you into UConn and your PSAT score is 140 which is 1400/2400 on the actual SAT which is not good either.</p>

<p>It might help that you are in state but you definately need to push and make junior year VERY good or you will be looking at some low-end schools in the fall.</p>

<p>No chance... go to a cc for a year, pull high marks, and then apply.</p>

<p>To husky.hopeful.... Years ago, a buddy of mine after getting deferred kept calling the admissions office every day to find out if he got accepted... They ended up knowing him very well over a months time... knew him so well that they ended up accepting him. Persistence in his case helped.</p>
