Any other reccomendations on schools (close to home) that may be a good fit for me, please reccomend away :) . Thanks

blaineko, thanks for the reply...i honestly think UT is a long shot, but i am more concerned with A&M. I had two VERY good essays, have made multiple visits to the campus and got a letter of recomendation from the principal of my school, whom i know very well, and my physics teacher. Both wrote very good rec's as far as i know. do these things bring my chances up at all? THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP!

At A&M, that should help you out a bit. They are less stats driven than UT-Austin, but keep on working---they will see your midterm grades. You look like you have a very good shot at Texas A&M. Good luck. And, wish you well. :)

wow, thanks. good to hear that. lately i've been nervous whether or not i will be accepted or not. My midterm grades, FYI, are Stellar. 99AP CAL, 92 Anatomy, 96 Gov, 94 Economics, 98 English. Hopefully this will improve my rank :)

Awesome. That should improve your class rank.

I'm in the same boat, I've been second guessing myself, and my choices a little myself. Guess it says that we definately want to go to college badly, huh?! When I was 10, I thought there was no way I would go to college, but now, wow?! Keep that chin up, Bud. The Aggies are doable for you.

Just do a search for Canuckeh's post and see what he's told me and others. Then make your decisions. As you can see by this post of his, that even though he has no familiarity with your schools, he is taking the opportunity to diss me. Wow.

Also, you can search for ALL of my 390+ posts to see if I exaggerate or am off base. :)

PS--You might want to read his thread 'ED does not help your chances', as well as note the links near the end of the discussion.

LSU- Excellent chance- Safety
Texas A&M- Good chance- Match
UT-Austin- Texas HS students not in top 10% and sub 1300 have a VERY tough time getting in. Depending on what school you are applying to (Business, Liberal Arts, Education, etc.) you could have a chance. Most likely a reach.
