<p>I have been working a 10+ hour job at my local riding barn for the past 4 years and have recieved my Girl Scout Gold Award aswell. I have been a year book editor for the past two years with active participation in my freshman and sophomore years too. I am also heavily involved in the musical department at my school and this year I am the Stage Manager for our schools production. I also have experience in Child Care because of a nannying job I have held for the past 2 years. </p>
<p>I have been in conctact with the admissions office every few weeks asking questions and showing my interest in the university. What do you think my chances are for getting in?</p>
<p>What is your intended major?</p>
<p>Right now I am undecided but thinking about education. I am not in state I live in CT.</p>

<p>Seems like IU, Bowling Green, Ohio State, University of Dayton, Purdue, Denison, U Kentucky, Transylvania, Ohio Wesleyan, or Michigan State would all be better picks for a school out this way.</p>

<p>Miami University’s undergraduate and graduate educator preparation programs have received full accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). </p>
<p>“The NCATE report praises Miami’s exceptional progressive and effective programs for teachers, administrators and other school professionals who are vital to the future of our nation’s schools,” said Miami President David Hodge. </p>
<p>Miami is “exceptionally proud” of the report, said Hodge, noting that the evaluators “especially praised the dynamism of the School of Education, Health and Society (EHS) and its leadership and the cooperation across the university in developing programs for educators.” </p>
<p>A nine-member NCATE team spent almost a week on campus last spring, examining every facet of Miami’s program, including both undergraduate and graduate programs. After talking to faculty, students and staff and examining hundreds of pages of reports, the team commended Miami’s efforts. </p>
<p>“The NCATE assessment of Miami’s programs is a real tribute to the extraordinary work of our faculty and students,” said Carine Feyten, EHS dean. </p>
<p>The report specifically pointed to Miami’s success in developing skills that ensure content knowledge, helping all pre-K-12 students learn and promoting knowledge of diversity. Additionally, the NCATE report commended Miami for the experiences it provides to undergraduates for work with diverse student populations. </p>
<p>“External evaluation is critical not only for our efforts to continually improve what we do, but to our students, their families, and prospective employers,” said Feyten. “The NCATE process has helped us with the introspection that is so essential to the success of our programs.” </p>
<p>More than 500 students graduate annually from Miami’s educator programs, and they are recruited by school districts from throughout Ohio and the nation. </p>
<p>Miami has been NCATE-accredited since 1954.
