This is all figurative, but given the current rate of acceptance do i stand a chance with these stats:

GPA (calculated to disclude 9th and include 12th): 3.6 unweighted
SATS: 650 Math, 710 CR, 720 Reading
SAT IIs: 690 Lit, 680 World History

Applying for the arts. Good recs, maintained the B+ average in English (while taking all honors english classes and anthropology, comparative religions, other humanities courses).

My GPA was a little higher (3.8) but I had no SAT IIs nor honors.
My ACT was 30, which is equivalent to your SAT’s 2080.

I was admitted but my country’s education is very simple so I don’t know if Mcgill considered that when reviewing my transcript. Did I have an advantage or disadvantage? I’ll never know.

Not sure how it compares to the Arts Faculty, but I was admitted to Desautels Management and the Faculty of Science. Perhaps you should check tomofboston’s “Ask a Mcgill Alumnus” thread, I’m sure there was a question related to this there.

I had an 1880 SAT and a 4.5 GPA - admitted. Yea I think you have a chance, but i heard the closer to the deadline you apply the harder it is to get in.

I got 1800 on my SAT’s, really good on my SAT II’s, 760 bio, 690 chem, but all A’s and A*s for my IGCSE’s and predicted 40 points for IB, and great recs, however my SAT grades didnt carry that much weight because i’m international/ non us student and i got into to F of science. Good luck though, i honestly dont know how they choose after what DSBM14 said…good luck :)

Another question: Why are you excluding 9th grade from GPA?

I heard…
Mc.Gill Mainly looks at years 10-first semester of 12?!?
Focusing most consideration on 11th grade (junior year)? Is this true?

This is upsetting for me, because as a freshman I took challenging classes that most sophomores/ juniors would take (those classes only had like 3 other freshman, and the rest sophomore/juniors) - and I did very well in those classes. Does this mean taking those classes, and doing well would have gone to waste??

I’d say you have a chance, but if you have time, take SAT I and IIs again, try to be all over 700s :D, that’s what I have - I was accepted to the Arts.

McGill asks for your transcript, so you don’t self-report any of your grades if you’re American. They focus more on unweighted GPA, but they have their own formula apparently.
McGill also ignores 9th grade from GPA calculations I’m pretty sure. They do value course rigor though, so coffee you wouldn’t be penalized.
Raydot, you have similar stats like mine, but I was waitlisted with a much higher SAT. You probably SHOULD get in, but I wouldn’t get too comfortable about the idea of going there before actually getting in… sigh
