Thinking of earlying Chicago

You have a decent chance. I’m not sure about the FA situation at Chicago for internationals – will you be able to afford it, since it’s a pretty pricey school?

Chicago values essays and having a “story” a lot. So, do you have a story? Can you express it well in your essays, and are you a good writer? That will be a major determiner in your admissions.

Its a very pricey school, and hopefully some aid would help with that (they are aid blind for international). and so far essays are sounding good. I just wanted to make sure that my academic base was strong enough for consideration. Thanks for your response!

I don’t think they are need blind on admissions for internationals, and I know they don’t commit to meet need for internationals.

Your scores and grades are good, ECs are average. But if you need aid, it will likely be unaffordable even if you are admitted.

Chicago is not blind for internationals.
Only 6 schools in the nation are so if you need money, don’t apply to Chicago and apply elsewhere instead.
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Amherst, Dartmouth

Chicago is huge on essays so if you feel like you have a unique experience to tell (and you can pay the tuition), then definitely go for it.

Your academic base is solid, one thing that concerns me is the top 8% of your class. While that is good, international competition is insane (and top 8% may not be high enough) and I don’t know how god your school is at sending kids to top schools so that could be a minor dent in your application.
