Hello, any help here would be greatly appreciated.
I'm currently a California resident, of North-African origin, at a very competitive school in central CA. I'm curious as to my chances at these schools:
UCB, UCLA, UCI, UCD, and UCSD.

10th grade gpa = 3.7(uw)

so far for 11th my classes are as follows, and the estimated grades (in AP classes, As are worth 5.0, Bs are 4.0, etc - each is 1 higher than non-ap):
3.83 UW - 4.3 W
AP Calculus 1 - B
AP Economics - A
AP US History - A
English III - A
French III - A
Physics - A

12th grade planned classes:
AP Govt/Psychology
AP Calculus 2
AP Chemistry
AP Biology
English III
French 4 (A is 5.0, etc., like AP classes)

^^
Assuming I actually get those above grades, and relatively decent ACT/SAT I/II scores, can someone please give me my chanes?

10th grade gpa = 3.7(uw)
and ur 11th grade weighted class is only 3 how is ur weighted 4.3?

and they dont weight ur freshmen and sophomore grades even if its AS/Hs. i donno just donest add up. bc i took 5 weigthed and got 4 As in those and have a 4.1 with a 4.0 as my sophomore grades. shrug

Ah okay, thanks very much. Do you guys reccomend any certain books or courses to raise the SAT scores? Also, can someone please explain how UC GPA is calculated? I'm somewhat confused as to how it works :(

The UC GPA is calculated by doing just what you did, only making sure that you only add the one extra grade point per class for the first eight honors/AP/IB classes you take in the sophomore and junior years. Since you only have six such courses, you've figured it correctly. Your overall UC GPA is right around 4.0 for the two years combined. Along with a 1950+ that would get you into UCSD, but not UCLA or UC Berkeley.

chronic and FastMed have it exactly right--you'll need about a 2100 to 2150+ to get into UCLA or UC Berkeley.

As far as study materials, I suggest the book "10 Real SATs". Nothing like studying using the real thing under real timed conditions.
