change decision

help! after much agonizing between JHU biomedical eng and Cornell eng my son made the decision yesterday to go to cornell. I overnighted the response yesterday. Now this am he is unsure again. Thinks he should chose JhU asked if he can still make yhe change today. And he's almost ill about this. I told him to go to his guidance counsler at school today and talk to her and call me from there. What should I/he do. and isn't it too late to change? cornell will have everything by this afternoon. What to do?

Wow. Parentalunit's child just posted chose C over JHU in another thread. Is this cold feet? I'm sure a phone call would suffice; I imagine others go thru this too.

I guess if it was me I'd say "you already made your decision last night, Cornell is a great school, just go ahead and go" unless there was a compelling reason to change. If he switches today to the other school then he'll have 'decision remorse' within a few hours of making that decision and will be back in the same boat.

I agree with uscducladad.

He made the decision, go forward from there.

I also agree with ucsd-ucla-dad. Assure him again that Cornell is a GREAT choice, and remind him of all of the reasons for that. Hug him, tell him it will be fine, then try to get him to move on.

Of course kids that are waitlisted at Cornell are saying, "Go with JHU, you'll be happier there, go...":) Tell him to go with Cornell and don't look back.

No, because Cornell has very good yield predictors.

Everyone has buyer's remorse, any everyone needs to get past it.

It is really hard to let go of a school you've come to know and love. But no one can attend more than one (unless they transfer, of course).
