I'm currently an accounting major looking to transfer. The school I'm looking to transfer into is highly competitve and I fear I will not be admitted. I am considering the option of going to the school as an economics major though. What can I do with an economics major? Can I still get internships to accounting firms? What kind of internships/jobs can I get? Thanks!

Just curious, if you are looking to get an internship at an accounting firm, what is your reasoning in switching to economics?

doesn’t have to b accounting firm… what other kind of firms can I get internships/jobs at? b/c this school offers a major in accounting in a different school than the business school which is easier to get into…

So what is your main objective, to go to the new school no matter the major? What exactly do you want to do when you graduate? It seems your putting the transfer school admit ahead of your major. Why?

If you want to sit for the CPA exam, it’s accounting or bust unless you want to spend a bit more time in school.

You can do a lot with economics, but if you’re going to a college that offers accounting and has a business school, you will mostly be able to pick up the scraps after the business majors have had their fill of job interviews.

random q: what does an econ degree get you job wise?
