And if not Bates , then anywhere else!!!

PS - Fin Aid reqd

I'm a first-year at Bates from NJ, so I don't know all that much about international admissions at Bates...but this is what the website has to say: http://www.bates.edu/FAQs-Intl-Students.xml. So it would seem your TOEFL score is a bit above average.

For a US student (again, that's really all I know about), your SATI is def above average, SATIIs look fine. The people in the Admissions Office would like your rank; the Tabla diploma sounds like it really could set you apart.

[Bates has an awesome econ department, I'd say it def helps set it apart from Colby and many of the other small, northeast LACs]

My biggest concern for you would be financial aid...it's def not right, but I know Bates isn't need blind for international applications.

Go for it; you certainly have a decent chance of getting in.

Also, you might want to post on
http://bates.dailyjolt.com/forum/ there are a few international kids who regularly post on there. They could probably help you out more than me.

Other places to consider: Hamliton, Vassar, Bowdoin, Colby

Hope to see you on campus next year!

Best of luck.

Jason

I would also look at Macalester College in St. Paul Minnesota - It has a great economics department and accepts a large group of international students every year.
