anyones penn portal get rid of their dual degree status? just curious i heard about someone elses disappearing.

mine did disappear...the section about the dual deg. essays.

anyone's still there?

does this mean they made decisions for dual deg. already?

What does it say at the top of the My Application Info?

Mine still lists the essay and form and at the top it says:

(name) -- The Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, Early Decision Freshman, Financial Aid Candidate

then again my application still isn't complete. They're missing my guidance recc and my secondary school info.

on the top i can still see it saying candidate for dual deg, etc. however, the form and essay section is gone...maybe since your application isn't complete, they haven't started reviewing it? i don't know...but my app was complete several weeks ago, does that mean they made a decision already?

im SURE they didnt make a desicion. and if they did, it wouldnt show on ur portal.

I also applied dual degree. It says they have form 1c but the essay is missing (always was, never changed) although i sent it in with my common app!

dual degrees are the first ones decided... so they probably have made those decisions already.. i don't knwo what htis whole disappearing thing means though

I agree with pahka, I'm pretty sure dual degree programs are decided first. I remember reading something about people applying dual degree ED without a single choice ED and Penn emailed them asking them if they wanted to chance to ED single choice if rejected from dual degree.

I'm also willing to bet anything I won't get in the dual degree program (I'm no outstanding student or anything) so I think it's because my application is still listed as incomplete.

^I, too, have the "dual-degree candidate" info at the top of the page, but my dual-degree essay is still outstanding.

Dot510: I called the Penn admissions office on Friday to ask why my essay was outstanding even though they received it through the Penn Supplement (which they have) and the woman told me that she is "99.9% sure that [we] have [your] essay filed away waiting to be scanned into [your] file. If [we have] received [your] supplement, [we] most likely have [your] dual-degree essay. [We] will inform [you] if anything is missing."

I'm sure everything will fit into place eventually. (I'm completely clueless as to why the dual degree tabs on other people's portals are disappearing...call to ask? I'm sure they won't mind; they're really nice.)

^^Also, if anyone does call...let us know what they say, please! (If no one calls, and my dual degree stuff disappears after a while, I'll call and post what was said.)

ambitious: i also called eventually and they said the same thing - waiting to be scanned. ill keep u posted

the dual degree programs need to make their decisions first so maybe they did release some of their decisions to penn

soo for all the dual degree people.. is your box still there? is it back?

Still there.

Did anyone call today to ask?

mine is still there

alright i might just call and ask them anonymously -- i'll post up what it means in a few mins after i call.

keep our fingers crossed crew.

but it would make sense that the dual degree decisions have been made. consider this: my application is still not completely up, they still have to put up some recs, and i still have my essays for huntsman at the bottom. but for the rest of you, if your app was complete, that means officers could have started looking at it -- which also means they could have also made their decisions.

good luck and hold up.

hmmm...i just checked now and the section is up again...interesting.

did this happen to anyone else?

and yea, my app was completed quite a long time ago...

This is interesting! My info's still there. So DD is decided first by department admissions and then sent to regular if DD is rejected?

I don't know now...The dual degree stuff disappeared couple days ago and is now back up again for me =/

i doubt it means anything at all.. one person out of all of us has it go missing.. i mean quite honestly only about 4 or 5 us will get in.. and probably 40 applicants already looked at this.. sooo i doubt what happened meant anything.. unless you are the one person who got in haha..
