What will be my chances if I raise my SAT score significantly?

great chance especially if u show interest make sure to visit if u wanna go

improve your sat scores, they're in the bottom percentile of sat scores for getting in (and u can get higher especially if you practice tests over the summer and take the test in october/november)

and when u take it in november you'll be smarter and wiser for the test.

and practice is different from studying, 'cause studying you're learning new material but practicing you're honing the skills you already know and getting better at them so its easier to practice sat tests

what if you don't visit? how does that affect your chances? I'm from NJ and can't make the trip to Atlanta b/c my parents can't really take off from work

emory says that good grades can make up for sub-par sat scores, but i would think that higher scores are better anyway. i wouldnt spend 1000 bucks for one of those test prep courses. they are more or less a waste of money, in my opinion. the more school you have had, the better your score is bound to be, obviously. but if youre really worries, buy one of the princeton review books for 30 bucks. it cant hurt. but you could use the time better having fun instead of worrying about this pain in the butt the college admission process is ;o). good luck.

oh and if you cant afford the trip to atl, order a video visit and email the counselor for your area. attend one of the sessions he/she will have in your area. they count it as the same weight.

I ordered the video visit a while back (like in November I think)... and I duntt hink there are any more of those sessions, I thought they were just in the fall... any1 wanna fill me in here? lol

well u said ur parents cant take off from work if ur willing why dont u fly down urself it will be cheaper and there are cheaper deals i think for student flights.

b/c its already March, what difference could it really make? It's stupid for a school to hold it against you if you're not able to fly there... especially when u live real far away... its just unreasonable

i dnt get it....youre a junior right? so just go to an info session next fall.

No, I'm a senior... and I said its already March, meaning that decisions are probably already made, no?

i was talking abouot the original post....he can wait till fall to go to an info session since it says hes a junior.

o id ditnt know smart but anyway u should visit anyway cuz if u get in how u know u wanna go
