Is it possible to change the main common app essay for each college that i apply to?
I am applying to different majors in different colleges and want to tailor each essay accordingly.

Is it possible for me to change the main essay?
Thanks a lot!

In my opinion, your COMMON App shouldn’t be about anything specific like that (a certain major, college, etc.) but rather an event, person, etc. that has to do with yourself

I don’t think it’s possible. I remember that one of the schools I was applying to had an earlier deadline, so I sent my application, and I could not change the main common app essay after I submitted the first one for any of my other schools.
You should express your interests in the according majors in the supplement, if a college has one; if not, they probably don’t want to know. In either cases I think it’s kind of a bad idea to write about a prospective major in your main essay, since colleges know that it can change very quickly.

starting October 19, and only after you submit your application to at least one school, the feature on the common app that allows you to save and submit different versions for different schools will become available.

That’s what the common app website help section said at the time I posted it back in early Sept. Oct 19 has now come and gone and that part of the info is no longer there.
