Thanks for the chance… I’ll chance you back this afternoon. My intended major is Engineering, possibly biomedical.

It really depends on your essays… esp if you don’t have any major awards… but if you win something major between now and March, be sure to notify the schools!

I would say the Ivies and HYPSM would be hard to get into w/ what I’m currently seeing… Wash U, Carnegie Mellon, and Northwestern would be somewhat easier…

What are the weaknesses of my application that warrants major awards?

Major weakness 32 on act

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

I honestly don’t think colleges care what ACT score you have after a certain point… How is 32 a “major weakness.” I could see it being a minor disadvantage, but I find it hard to believe 1 point makes a significant difference.

Your ecs seem to be decent, nothing outstanding though (including awards) scores are sufficient to get in, execpt the ACT might be a tad low, but sat2 are great. just make sure you have an unique essay to compensate

Like Hockeydude said, your ACT score is a little low for almost all of these schools. However, your course load is really helpful. You can say that they balance each other out. Your ECs are good! Those math and science competitions will be good at all of those schools, especially MIT. I don’t really know what to say about the Ivy league schools, they’re always a big toss up. Obviously, the harder schools on your list to get into are Harvard, Stanford, UPenn, and MIT, but the other schools are definitely doable! You should be fine with WashU, Duke, and Carnegie Mellon. I don’t see a class rank. Since you go to a private school, I can imagine that your class rank would affect your admissions. Just make sure your essays and interview are good! good luck!

:)

Thank you. I’ll chance you guys back tomorrow. My school doesn’t rank, but they will perceive me as definitely top 10%.

You have a pretty decent chance at most colleges. But Ivy league is extremely selective you know…

I am aware that they are extremely selective. I am just asking about my chances relative to other applicants.
